The Andean Woman in Their everyday Life

It is false to believe that boredom is an endemic complaint of civilization. The daily life of these Andean peasant women is very hard and tedious.
They are the true alpaca herders. They leave at 4am with their herds of alpacas to graze on the highland plains of the Andes mountains until the sunsets to return them to their villages. Their skins are burned down by the sun and cold, they have almost no teeth, their hips are very large from having given birth to many children, and to withstand long walks of many hours to reach the city from the mountains at 3,500 mts to sell their wool or bargain (trueque) food and others, to return to their villages days after. These women are the real “breadwinner” of the family.
